What this website collects (almost nothing), and how KadaAI looks after your shop’s data. In plain English.

This website

kadaai.in is a simple website. It doesn’t try to find out who you are.

  • No cookies. This website doesn’t set any cookies.
  • No analytics or tracking. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts on these pages.
  • Fonts from Google. The site’s typeface loads from Google Fonts. To fetch it, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and basic browser details, as with any web request.
  • Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare handles each request, including your IP address, to deliver the page to you.

Forms and messages

The free trial, contact and investor forms don’t send anything from the website. When you press the button, your own email app (or WhatsApp, where we offer it) opens with what you typed. Nothing reaches us until you press send there.

We use what you send only to reply to you and, if you asked for one, to set up your trial.

Your shop’s data in KadaAI

This part is a short summary for shops that use KadaAI. The Security page has the details.

What we store

Your store’s data is stored on KadaAI servers: your catalogue, prices, stock, sales and returns, and your staff’s names and roles. That is how your tills and the web admin stay in step. Staff PINs and passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes, never as typed.

On the counter PC

The till keeps its own copy of your data, so it can bill offline. That copy is encrypted with AES-256 (SQLCipher 4), using a random key for each till that Windows (DPAPI) or macOS (Keychain) seals. It is only as safe as the computer’s sign-in, so protect the Windows account with a real password.

On the way, and in our cloud

Everything travels over HTTPS. Each till has its own device key, and our server keeps only a hash of it. Each shop’s data is kept apart from every other shop’s, and every request is checked against the shop it belongs to.

Sign-in records and logs

To stop password guessing, we record web admin sign-in attempts: the account, the IP address, the time and whether it worked. Like most online services, our servers also keep technical logs that include IP addresses, to keep KadaAI running and secure.

Your customers

KadaAI doesn’t collect your customers’ details today. Sales are recorded without customer names, phone numbers or addresses.

AI features

AI comes with the AI Standard and AI Pro tiers. On Basic, no store data goes to an AI provider.

When you use Business Insights, the AI Assistant or Predictive Restock, KadaAI sends the store data needed to answer to the AI provider it uses: Anthropic, OpenAI or Google. That data can include:

  • your question, and the earlier messages in that conversation;
  • product names, sizes, colours and SKU codes;
  • prices, stock quantities and sales totals.

It is sent as it is, not anonymised, and the provider handles it under its own terms. It never includes your customers’ personal details, because KadaAI doesn’t collect them.

A few more points

  • Add-on suggestions on the till (“often bought together”) are worked out by KadaAI from your own bills. Nothing is sent to an AI provider.
  • Voice questions are turned into text by your browser’s own speech service (Google’s in Chrome, Microsoft’s in Edge). The audio goes to that service, not through KadaAI.
  • AI keys stay on our servers. Your till and your browser never talk to the AI provider directly.
  • The AI only reads. It sees your store’s data and no one else’s, and it can’t change anything.

Backups

Every night at midnight IST, we back up the KadaAI server database, which holds the data of every store on KadaAI. We keep 7 daily, 4 weekly and 6 monthly copies. How backups work.

Your choices

  • A copy of your data. Ask us for a copy of your store’s data. The web admin’s reports also download as CSV files whenever you like.
  • Deletion. Ask us to delete your store’s data. We may first check that you are the store’s owner. Deleted data can stay in backup copies until those copies expire.
  • Keeping AI off. On the Basic tier, no store data is sent to any AI provider.
  • Messages you sent us. Ask, and we’ll delete an email or message you sent through this website.
